Future Architecture Platform
Tbilisi Architecture Biennial traveled to Ljubljana, Slovenia, where it was part of the the Architectural Fair, 15-16 February 2018.
The Architecture Fair was a 2-day event running parallel to the Matchmaking Conference of Future Architecture ,as part of the Creative Exchange 2018.
TAB was represented by Tinatin Gurgenidze, who gave a presentation about the topic and ideas surrounding the upcoming Architecture Biennial in Tbilisi.
This was the first appearance in public for TAB and was a very fruitful and important event for us.
DATES
The first edition of Tbilisi Architecture Biennial will open its doors on October 26 and run until November 3, 2018.

Buildings Are Not Enough
Tbilisi Architecture Biennial 2018 is the first international architecture festival to take place in Georgia since the country regained its independence in 1991. Uniting Architects, scholars, designers and commentators, the 2018 event will focus on the subject “Buildings are not enough”,, seeking to study the transformational processes and newly reinvented living patterns of city dwellers. Alterations and adjustment made to architecture and the built environment in Tbilisi over the past 30 years have been undertaken by the city’s inhabitants to suit their changing needs: buildings have been transformed just as the lives of those who dwell within them have been transformed.

Tbilisi Architecture Biennial team visited OMA’s (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) office in Rotterdam.
Reiner De Graaf, partner at OMA and co-founder of AMO, the office’s think tank, will be a key note speaker at symposium during Tbilisi Architecture Biennial where he will discuss his recent book “Four Walls and a Roof, The Complex Nature of a Simple Profession”.
