The Institute of Urban Design at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Wuppertal, lead by Prof. Dr. Tanja Siems, works on urgent issues of urban spaces in times of climate change. Research focuses on space sufficiency, the social and physical integration of sustainable technologies into urban systems, and concepts of co-design in urban transformation processes. Embedding academic learning into our research and working in real-world laboratories with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams is central to our approach.
