Wladimir Sgibnev

Wladimir Sgibnev is senior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography in Leipzig, Germany. He defended his PhD at Berlin’s Humboldt University Central Asian studies department, addressing the production of social space in urban Tajikistan. Currently, he is working on urban processes in post-Soviet countries, particularly urban development, infrastructures and mobility in peripheral locations, and their interrelation with wider socio-economic transformation processes.
