Merve Bedir

Merve Bedir graduated from METU (B.Arch), Ankara and TUDelft (Ph.D). Her work is broadly concerned with the production of urban space and the politics of labour; and in particular with design as a collective and non-disciplinary act. She is an assistant professor in Hong Kong University, Department of Architecture. She is the co-founder of Land and Civilization Compositions (Rotterdam) and Aformal Academy (Shenzhen); and a founding member of Kitchen (Gaziantep) and the Center for Spatial Justice (Istanbul). Her multi-scalar practice varies among research, curating, and design. Merve participated in Oslo Triennale, Bucharest, Istanbul, Shenzhen, and Venice Biennales, and her work was reviewed in Metropolis, Avery Review, and The Guardian. She has published in Thresholds, AD Magazine, Volume, MONU, among others.
