Born 1981 in Hamburg, Germany Johanna is a designer and craftswoman living in Hamburg and Halle. Before studying design she completed a master of crafts in carpentry and worked as a craftswoman in different countries. As a designer she works at the intersection of art, design and urban planning in socially engaged projects.
A series of postcards displays details of the hallway. Remains on walls and floors of the original interior and changes undertaken by inhabitants throughout time give reason for speculation about the building’s past. In their totality those details describe quiet precisely the present state and unique atmospheres of each storey of Building 76 in Microdistrict III, Gldani, Tbilisi. Once disassembled and re-configurated though, they might as well portray randomly another building in another post-soviet city.
